TRAFFIC AND LAWLESSNESS IN LAGOS

Another avoidable casualty

The recklessness on the highway by the commercial drivers is on the increase

They block major bus stops
With Lastma and police support
They look the other way

Today in a shuttle bus I heard the driver lamenting of a Lastma official who came to pursue them from Abule Ado bus stop
I responded by telling him that he was doing the right thing and he responded thus
Driver : Not after they have collected money from us ?
The question mark is there because he was positing his response to me a s a question ?
And that is what it is

The lawlessness takes place because those in charge to correct the wrongs are their major conniver’s and enablers

I was visiting someone last week and I packed on the Iba expressway and my son and girlfriend dropped to get Mangoes for us and the person we were visiting and I saw Lastma officials two of them recording and I jokingly asked if I have not committed any offence them say I have and that I will receive my ticket
And by my side are Lagos commercial buses parked without drivers inside and some with their drivers

As my papa pickin I started my video recording them and all the buses parked there too that are legally parked and I made sure I recorded them all through and told them I will share their videos as soon as I received the ticket

I promised to defend myself on this particular one
I am still waiting for my ticket

Their style is either you beg them to settle for a lesser fee or they post it
I might be wrong though I know I am not but my take is why two different laws for same offenses ?

I once raised this on a programme featuring the Lagos PRO of that unit and he debunked it and ask I get proof
I get plenty proof sir

And back to the cele bus stop incident
