I came across a question that
“Why did archangel Micheal dragged the body of Moses with Lucifer?

Even though the spirit of Moses was with God why was his body been contended for?
    Pls share your insight.

    • The story of Archangel Michael disputing with Lucifer over the body of Moses is derived from Jude 1:9 in the New Testament. It states:

“But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, ‘The Lord rebuke you!'”

This verse is mysterious and does not provide much detail, but it suggests a cosmic conflict between Michael and Lucifer (the devil) over Moses’ body. Here’s some context and interpretations:

      1. Moses’ Unique Death and Burial:
In Deuteronomy 34:5-6, it says that Moses died in Moab, and God Himself buried him in an unknown location.
The secrecy of Moses’ burial might have been to prevent people from idolizing his tomb, given his significance as a leader and prophet of Israel.
      2. Lucifer’s Intentions:
Lucifer may have wanted to claim Moses’ body for dishonorable purposes. Some interpretations suggest that he could have sought to corrupt it, use it as a tool for idolatry, or undermine God’s plan.
      3. Michael’s Role:
As an archangel, Michael is portrayed as a protector and warrior for God’s purposes.
In the dispute, Michael does not directly confront Lucifer with accusations but invokes the authority of God by saying, “The Lord rebuke you.”
      4. Jewish Tradition:
The account might be influenced by Jewish traditions not fully detailed in the Hebrew Bible. Some scholars suggest it could be drawn from ancient writings like the apocryphal Assumption of Moses, which is now largely lost but mentioned in early Christian texts.
      5. Symbolic Meaning:
The passage emphasizes humility and reliance on God’s authority rather than direct confrontation with evil. It serves as a lesson in spiritual warfare: even an archangel defers to God’s power.
While the exact reason for the dispute isn’t explicitly explained in the Bible, the story reflects the ongoing cosmic struggle between good and evil, where God’s sovereignty ultimately prevails.
