IBB Don HammerDuring the public launch of his autobiography, “A Journey in Service,” former military President Ibrahim Babangida received nearly ₦17bn in donations from Nigeria’s business elite. Aliko Dangote led the contributions with an ₦8bn pledge—broken down into ₦2bn per year for four years—followed by Abdulsamad Rabiu’s ₦5bn, with other notable figures also contributing. Folorunsho Alakija and a few others also made donations but did not disclose the amount donated publicly.
The event, hosted by the IBB Presidential Library Foundation, celebrated IBB’s legacy and marked a milestone in public support. The book is now available at bookshops like Roving Heights: ₦40,000 for the paperback and ₦50,000 for the hardback.
