As the first and only Prime-Minister of Nigeria, his office, the Cabinet Office was about half-a-kilometer away from his official residence.

Very many times, Tafawa Balewa would trek from his home to the office or vise versa.

His official residence was the house facing the Island Club at Onikan, Lagos.

It is now the Lagos office of the Economic Commission for West Africa, ECOWAS.
